Repeat Prescription

Please allow 2-3 working days for us to process prescription requests before you collect them.

You can also nominate a pharmacy to have your prescription sent to directly.

The NHS App

The quickest and easiest way to request a repeat prescription is through the NHS App.  Please be reminded that prescriptions take 48 hours to be processed.  If you have an urgent request due to an exceptional circumstance then please let reception know.  Please be aware that this will only be signed urgently at the discretion of the GP on call.

Available for all smartphones, the free NHS app lets you order a repeat prescription in a few easy steps at any time, with no need to call the practice.

You can also use the NHS App to book appointments, get advice, views your records and more.  Please be mindful that the practice receives hundreds of results daily and our GPs work different days due to other responsibilities.  We do aim to file and action results within 7 days, unless they are highlighted as urgent by the laboratory and these will be dealt with within 24 hours.  Patients will be contacted about abnormal results only.

Through our website

If you have signed up to use our online service through EMIS, then you can also send a request that way.

As well as medication details and issue dates, you can also nominate a pharmacy to collect your prescription. This can be a more convenient option than coming to the practice.

If you have not yet signed up for our online services, please speak to the Reception team to get access.

By Telephone

You can request a prescription by calling 0191 236 3338 between 8.30am to 10.00am and 1.00pm to 3.00pm.

In-Person

Visit us at Brunton Park Health Centre and speak to the Reception Team. Please bring the repeat prescription form part of our last prescription.
