Appointments with eConsult

With eConsult you are in charge.

Our online system is quick, easy to use, convenient and most importantly gets you the help you need when you need it.

Our Online Appointment System

From 3rd November, 2025, Brunton Park Health Centre moved to an online appointment system through eConsult.

All requests are triaged by our clinical team, who will decide how best to support you.

If you think you need to be seen today, or want to request a home visit, please contact us as early in the day as possible.

Using eConsult

You can access eConsult through our website, or in the NHS App. With eConsult you can:

  • Send your request in your own time – no waiting on the phone
  • Get quicker responses and faster resolutions, with no unnecessary trips to the Practice
  • Have more convenient care options (phone, video, or face-to-face)
  • Be seen by the most appropriate member of the healthcare team

If you already have the NHS App or an NHS login, you’re ready to use eConsult.

If not, you can download the NHS App for free, and create a login.

How it works

eConsult is easy to use, either in the NHS App or through our website.

  • You send us your request – either through our eConsult link, using the NHS App, or over the phone.
  • We review your request – our clinical team will look at what you’ve told us and decide the best way to help you.
  • We respond – this might be with advice, a prescription, a call back, or an appointment – whichever is best for your needs.

We aim to respond to all requests within two working days, though we usually get back to people much sooner than that.

If you are unable to use the eConsult service

If you would like an appointment, please call 0191 236 3338 or visit us.

Our team will submit an eConsult request for you so that all requests are treated equally. Please be prepared to give as much information as you can. This helps the clinical team work out how best to help you. Everything you tell us is confidential.

Urgent and Routine Appointments

All requests can be sent via eConsult and assessed by our team.

They’ll look at what you need and work out the best way to help.

Home Visits

If you are housebound, a home visit may be possible.

Please request an appointment through eConsult, and let us know that you are unable to get to us. It is best to contact us as early in the day as possible.

Home visits are not guaranteed. Our on-call GP will triage home visit requests and decisions will be based on clinical need and capacity.

Cancelling Appointments

If you know you won’t be able to attend a scheduled appointment or no longer need the one you have booked, please make every effort to let us know.

Please contact us on 0191 236 3338. Our phone lines are open Monday to Friday 8.00am - 6.00pm.

You may also be able to amend or cancel an appointment using the NHS App.

By cancelling your unneeded appointment, we can offer the slot to another patient who needs it.
